Building a Timber Frame House

The plot is on a sloping site close to the town centre of Ammanford. The ground from the road  rises steeply and it is not possible to get a vehicular access into the site from this point.

Access is from the rear via a short driveway shared by an adjoining property. This does not pose a problem for delivery vehicles as width of access is more than adequate.

Initial site clearance was by hand and chainsaw to remove some small trees. At the time the footings were dug final clearance took place, using a JCB to remove larger roots.

A mini-digger (supplied by Brandon Hire) was used to dig trenches for services needed to connect the Mobile Home which was to be used as accommodation for the duration of the build.

The plot is on a slightly sloping site between two houses
